HW13 Simulink Model

How do you go about adjusting Im and C in the Simulink model for HW13 parts d and e? All I can see to adjust is Vpv and the solar irradiation.

  1. I cant figure out how to make a new post. Nowhere on my screen is a new post button so I'll have to comment on this post. I am having trouble with this problem and seems if I don't get part a. right then it trickles to the rest of the parts. I would like to know if I'm on the right track.

    a. I have a model very similar to Fig. 11.12a but have a voltage source on the output instead of a load resistor. To find the duty cycle I then equate the power across the resistor using the (voltage across resistor)^2/R and (current through resistor)^2*R. Since the current through the resistor is Ipv I substitute Ppv/Vpv for Ipv.
To find L for DCM I took the minimum L at peak of the sine wave for CCM and said L has to be less than that.

    b. to find L for Critical CM I did something similar to section 18.3.3 except I have R=2L/(D*ton)

    c. for C can someone give me an idea where to start.

    Thanks, Joe

  2. Did anyone figure out how to change Im and C. Also, how do we use the model to get plots of Vac, Vpv and Ppv versus time. Do We have to create our own model? If so can anyone give me some pointers.

  3. Sorry, all I can say is that I also did not figure it out...but I feel your pain!! :-) Even after you see the solution can you comment on how you think it was done? The solution still does not make any sense to me at all. I will have a look at it again also.

  4. I'm still having trouble with this assignment. Do we have to make a model like we did in the beginning of the class and pull Vpv and Ipv from this pv model. Any pointers will help.
    Thanks, Joe
