HW6 #2 11.1 'd'

Has anyone found that Icrit is not a function of 'n', but only Vg, Re and D?

I have checked my work multiple times and can't find an error.  Having Icrit independent of 'n' seems a bit odd.

  1. I found out Icrit to be (1-D)*Vg/D/n/Re. Anyone with the same result ?

  2. In my opinion it all depends on how I is defined. For a flyback I = (nV)/(D'R). I'm assuming that the final answer wants I defined as I=V/R. Therefore n and D' go into the Icrit term. Hope this helps

  3. Thanks folks!

    I was being an idiot and had Icrit as the inductor current, not the load current. Once it's reflected across the transformer, the 'n' appears.

    Moral = reading is fundamental.
