Re for 18.2

So I am starting to confuse myself on what Re should be for 18.2.  Do we use the DCM boundary to determine the Re for DCM or is it the standard 2L/d^2Ts?  What decides Re?
It seems that because the vg/ig=Re in both the DCM of Chpt 11and in our current model, Re is the same but if this were a Cuk or Sepic then Re would be different.  Is this correct?

  1. Kristine,
Here's some good supplemental material for a buck-boost in DCM via Texas Instruments. http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva059a/slva059a.pdf

  2. Thank you but I think my question is more of when is the Re in this model the same as the Re in the DCM model? Or is the DCM Re always the one we use in drawing the model but this may not be the same as the Re we use for vg/ig?

  3. Just to complete this post. Re is still the DCM Re in the model we draw however this can be different from the Re represented by Vg/Ig depending on the implementation.
